Previously, Dr. Dunton was chief executive officer of Panacos Pharmaceuticals, Inc., president and chief executive officer of Metaphore Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (acquired by ActivBiotics), president and managing director of the Janssen Research Foundation, and a senior executive in the Pharmaceuticals Group of Johnson & Johnson, . He currently serves on the board of directors of Oragenics, Inc. Dr. Dunton has been a member of Targacept’s board of directors since October 2006 and serves on the Compensation Committee.
