Geoffrey C. Dunbar, M.D. Senior Vice President, Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Dunbar joined Targacept in June 2001 and serves as Senior Vice President, Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Medical Officer.  Previously, he held positions of increasing responsibility for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, including Bristol-Myers Squibb where he was Vice President, Neuroscience Clinical Research and Development.  He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Physicians (UK).  Dr. Dunbar received his medical degree from London University, with honors in Pharmacology, and completed internships at Guys Hospital Group, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Maudsley & Bethlem Hospital, all in the United Kingdom.
